Domain Names
CHOOSING, SEARCH & REGISTRATION
You will need a domain name (URL or website name) for your website.
Not sure what you want or should be called? I can help you and offer suggestions, as well as carrying out the domain name search and registration on your behalf.

Web Hosting & Maintenance
A FULLY SERVICED HOME FOR YOUR WEBSITE
You will also need to arrange web hosting – that is ‘renting’ your little bit of space on the web where your website sits. I can also deal with this on your behalf.
Our Basic Annual Web Hosting Package offers 12 months domain registration, web hosting and maintenance of your website, plus e-mail forwarding (see below). Throughout the year I will check that your site is running properly and deal with any problems if they arise. Regular back ups will also be taken.
The cost is currently £125pa.

Domain Name Email
KEEPING UP COMMUNICATIONS
No doubt you have an e-mail account in use already. You can also have an email address – or addresses – associated with your website (eg you@yourdomain.com).
Email Forwarding is provided free with your web hosting package (above). Email forwarding redirects any email sent to your domain name email address to your existing email address. (For example, you@yourdomain.com is set to forward to you@yourISP.com or you@gmail.com). So you will receive all email sent to your domain name address, but you reply from your own email.
The main advantage of email forwarding is simplicity, it requires you to do nothing, no set up, no passwords etc.
If you need a separate email box then there are other options, or if you want to know more about how email works, read my MooseSpeak Article:
A Brief Guide to Email
Website Support & Development
FULL SUPPORT FOR THE FUTURE
All Waving Moose sites are fully managed websites, ie not the kind you update yourself directly. This is my clients’ favoured option as well as a personal choice to preserve the quality and integrity of your website.
If you need to make changes at any time, you just notify me by email and the changes will be made for you – normally within 48 hours, sooner if it’s really urgent.
The cost of content amendment and further development is based solely on the work time involved (currently at £20 per hour). This is usually charged annually with your hosting renewal. That way you only pay for the time and resource you need.

Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)
HELPING PEOPLE FIND YOU
Of course I cannot guarantee what or how much business you will get from your website. But I will do my best to help you get the most from it.
Everybody wants to be at the top of the list in Google and other search engines. That’s why not everybody can be! But there are things you can do to help improve your position. This is referred to as SEO – Search Engine Optimisation.
There are numerous companies out there who offer SEO services – and they will charge you for it, not always for much more than you could do yourself.? There are also other possibilities for paying to generate traffic and improving search engine ranking – eg Google Adwords, which you can pursue if you decide. I will advise you of other ways you can help yourself, at little or no-cost.
You can learn about these in my MooseSpeak Article:

All clients also receive a free copy of my brochure Someone Looking for You? A Guide to Local SEO – with the best ways to help Google help you to attract local business.
The many things that impact on SEO are ever-changing, but the one thing that remains constant is the importance of appropriate and relevant user-friendly content. This is always my priority as a writer when drafting or editing your website content.
But Finally…
Getting people to your website is not just about search engines. Don’t forget the (arguably greater) value of direct communication and word of mouth. Be sure to publicise your website through business cards, flyers, brochures, presentations etc.
